IFOAM AgriBioMediterraneo will participate in the Earth Hour. Press release, Valencia, Spain, 26th March 2009
26 March 2009
IFOAM AgriBioMediterraneo (ABM) believes that climate changes consist one of the (most important) main environmental problems of our days. During the trade fair BIOFACH in February 2009, one of the most important exhibitions concerning the organic world, ABM presented “A Mediterranean action plan for climate change mitigation through Organic Farming”. ABM argues that the organic world can positively contribute to mitigate climate changes.
At 29 March 2009 AgriBioMediterraneo will participate in the Earth Hour, which will take place all over the world. From 8.30 p.m. and for one hour villages and cities will turn off their lights sending the message that we can all react against global warming. You can find more information to: www.earthhour.org
Mrs Charikleia Minotou, President of AgriBioMediterraneo noticed: “We believe that all of us we can react and support the Earth Hour. It is important to send a message to world leaders for their meeting at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009. This meeting will define official government policies and actions against global warming and will replace the Kyoto Protocol. We invite you to turn off your lights at 29 of March 2009 as the first step to approve that organic agriculture cares about our planet”.
